Welcome to the 2025-26 School Year to all of our Cook Families!
Our first day of school will be here in no time we're thrilled to welcome our Cook Lions to their new school year! As a National Blue Ribbon and California Distinguished School, we are excited to continue to grow and thrive in the new school year! Our first day begins on Monday, August 11th at 8:05am but I highly encourage all families to arrive early since arrival and dismissal can be very busy during the first few weeks of school as everyone gets used to our procedures. Students can begin arriving at 7:45am to line up and school gates will open at 7:50am. Please be sure to scroll down and carefully review our "Arrival & Dismissal Reminders" section prior to the first day of school to ensure everything runs smoothly.
On the first day of school, all families are welcome to walk their child to their classroom line on the first day of school. We will also have all teachers and staff available to make sure your child gets to their classroom line. Once the bell rings, all families will be invited to promptly exit the campus so we can begin our instructional day. Starting on the second day of school, all families can say their good-byes prior to their child entering campus. You are welcome to send your child with a sign on the second day if you wish and one of our wonderful staff members will make sure they find their classroom line. As a reminder, for safety reasons, we are a closed campus so after the first day of school parents will only be permitted on campus by signing in through the front office and getting a visitor's pass.
As a reminder, breakfast and lunch is free this year. If your child would like to eat breakfast at school, please arrive at 7:40am. Breakfast is served in our multi-purpose room (MPR) and the line is located just outside the gate next to the MPR.
This year, we will continue to use parking passes in car windshields to ensure only Cook families are utilizing our car line and parking lots. Your parking pass will be inside of your child's Opening Packet that will come home on the first day of school. Inside the Opening Packet, there are also some other important forms we would like our families to fill out and return to school on the following day. Please be sure to check your child's backpack for the packet at the end of the first day of school.
To make sure your child is prepared for the new school year, it will be helpful to make sure your child comes to school with a backpack and a reusable water bottle. Please be sure to clearly label all of your child's belongings with his/her/their name. You should also have a school supply box with sharpened pencils and crayons in a quiet space available for your child at home so they are able to complete any homework each night.
We cannot wait to begin another successful year at Cook with your child! We're looking forward to seeing you all on the morning of Monday, August 11th.
